So valued were the outcomes of a 4 -day event, that our client asked us to develop a programme to run over 4 years, guiding their new recruits through the first years of their employment.
The resulting programme of experiential modules and on-site workshops now helps these young employees to develop interpersonal skills to contribute fully at work.
As a further consequence, they report feeling more involved, motivated, and rewarded.

Developing Young Talent
When young people first enter employment it can be an exciting time
for both employer and employee. Companies invest in recruitment that
will bring in the talent needed to keep their business moving forward,
and as they do so they meet eager young adults who are often brimming
with new ideas but some times lack the communication skills to put
them forward. Employers try to help the transition from education
to work go well so that young staff are retained and their energy
is brought to the workplace. Inevitably challenges are encountered
by the youngsters: dealing with difficult people who may be much
older, meeting deadlines and targets, communicating the right thing
at the right time, fitting in, and feeling confident enough to join
in and play a full part.
For more than 20 years we have been helping companies to train
and retain their young people, be they graduates, apprentices, or
other
young employees. We have helped young people enjoy their budding
careers through becoming more self aware and confident.

Our DYT programme has been running for more than 20 years, now,
and in that time has developed to keep pace with the changing needs
of our customers wishing to use it. A regular open
course welcomes individuals and small groups from different businesses
and takes the form of a 4-day residential module with pre- and post-
course work to support it.
What all of these programmes have had in common is that they are
uniquely about the individuals who come along. When participants
realise this they are quick to join in the process of stretching
their abilities and extracting what learning they can that will
help them at work.
